Friends House
I was originally dragged there by my friend who is a Quaker and decided to go just to see what it was all about, and I was pleasantly surprised. You will find a very diverse and open minded group of nice people from academics, to hippies, to little old ladies who where hippies back in the day!The meeting its self was a very quiet affair that consisted of simply sitting there meditating and just becoming one with everyone and thing. If you have never been before they have a great pamphlet on how the meeting works, what to expect and after the meeting there's tea, cookies and deliciousness! This meeting is in the around 11% of Quaker meetings that practice waiting/unprogrammed worship, which means God and Jesus are kept to a bare minimum which is great for an atheist like me.

Burlington Friends Meeting
A quiet sanctuary that sits back from the road with a beautiful large back yard. The meeting area includes two clean well equipped bathrooms and a small kitchen. The main meeting room has four and a half inch wide ash plank flooring with a natural finish. You are required to remove your shoes upon entering where coat hangers are available. There are at least fifty cushioned solid chairs for various sitting arrangements. The south facing wall has four large windows with white farm house style trim and the west wall has two windows and a door leading to the back yard. This space exudes a simple balanced elegance. If you decide to attend the Sunday sit at 5:00 pm please refrain from wearing any perfume/ hair spray or anything with artificial scent including cloths that were dried with a scented fabrics softener.
